"This is what I wanna do"
We were both laughing inside the coffeeshop.
From her love of books and writing then to my career goals in the field of media and entertainment, the talks shifted elsewere…
“Erwin, December is coming,” she says. “Time flies.”
“Hehe,” I chuckle slightly, looking at my coffee cup.
“Can I share to you something?” I then ask her.
“Sure,” she says, listening intently. “What’s up?”
“Have you like, had an experience or some circumstance that made you firmly decide ‘this is what I want to do’ ? ”
“Not that I recall,” she replies in deep thought. “What is it that you want to do?”
I smile at her differently.
“I want to bungee jump. Very soon. Want to come?”
She smiles back.

That Wet Wet Wet reunion
Oh man, is this another sign or what?
I chanced upon watching a DVD of the band Wet Wet Wet, the group known for their hits “Love Is All Around” and “Goodnight Girl”, and once I pushed the play button I felt like I was visited by an old friend.
Twenty-six music videos. I sang along and felt their feel-good vibe and romantic mood all around.
Instantly, creative inspiration came over.
All of a sudden, December 2007 holds the promise of another interesting event.

Broken
The broken clock is a comfort, it helps me sleep tonight
Maybe it can stop tomorrow from stealing all my time
I am here still waiting though I still have my doubts
I am damaged at best, like you’ve already figured out
I’m falling apart, I’m barely breathing
With a broken heart that’s still beating
In the pain there is healing
In your name I find meaning
So I’m holdin’ on, I’m holdin’ on, I’m holdin’ on
I’m barely holdin’ on to you
The broken locks were a warning you got inside my head
I tried my best to be guarded, I’m an open book instead
I still see your reflection inside of my eyes
That are looking for purpose, they’re still looking for life
I’m hanging on another day just to see what you will throw my way
And I’m hanging on to the words you say
You said that I will be ok
The broken lights on the freeway left me here alone
I may have lost my way now, haven’t forgotten my way home
I’m falling apart, I’m barely breathing
With a broken heart that’s still beating
In the pain there is healing
In your name I find meaning
So I’m holdin’ on, I’m holdin’ on, I’m holdin’ on
I’m barely holdin’ on to you
I’m holdin’ on
I’m holdin’ on
I’m barely holdin’ on to you

Some birthday thoughts
For those reading this entry right now, let me ask you this:
So what do you usually do during your birthday?
I celebrated mine with less fanfare yesterday. And yet, the saying that “less is more” was what happened.
Got bombarded with text messages of birthday greetings though. Hahaha.
There’s this basketball court at the back of the house where I stayed, and as I shot the ball to the net, images of what is to come based on my future plans flooded my mind.
The anticipation felt great.
As the night rolled by, I got a final text message from someone special.
She told me about waiting for this special event to come, and we know that this finally coming true for both of us may now be getting closer than ever.
I smiled at the thought before finally calling it a day.

Reading at Powerbooks
As a creative person, it helps to be exposed to anything that could stimulate the imagination, and in my case at the onset of the main development of this upcoming major project conceived during the last quarter of last year. So yesterday that’s what exactly I did.
Watching The Bourne Ultimatum and its endless chase scenes and shaking camera shots was one way, and reading at Powerbooks was the other.
Reading at the place, specifically at the Greenbelt branch where there are seats strategically placed around the area for you to relax and read your book of choice, was a welcome rediscovery after weeks of work. It really opened up my thinking on a lot things and what I wanted to do on the next months to come.

When creative people meet
As I write this blog, it’s raining outside, and great music is being played at the background.
It’s always great whenever I get the chance to talk and hang out with another fellow artist. The discovery of learning that she/he does the same interests as you do, sees life in the same light, maybe even own some nice sense of humor or spark of inspiring enthusiasm or gentle warmth coming from within; the simple things we take for granted sometimes.
So yes, I look forward hanging out with creative people, to learn something from them, appreciate their works, laugh with them and share with them these God-given abilities.
Makes this ride all the more interesting.
